AHPCO has been advocating for hospice in Alabama for more than 40 years.

The Alabama Hospice and Palliative Care Organization was created to promote understanding of the hospice benefit provided by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance companies. Made up of hospices and palliative care programs throughout the state, AHPCO provides up-to-date and accurate information regarding end-of-life care.  The organization also works to improve public policy regarding end-of-life care by providing information to elected officials and decision makers. In addition, we work to promote a better understanding of hospice and palliative care within our communities.

AHPCO is a not-for-profit organization that advocates for better awareness of hospice and end-of-life care issues in the state. Our goal at AHPCO is to maintain the highest ethical standards and establish the organization as a grassroots political voice for dying patients and their families.

Values

 As hospice providers we advocate for patients working to ensure ALL people have access to high quality end-of-life care. As an organization AHPCO advocates on behalf of hospice providers to remove barriers to care and provide a voice for all hospice providers in relation to regulatory bodies, medical communities, payor sources and other entities impacting hospice care.
